outta my way
yesterday i went to amk to get some stuff settled.
between the printing shop(where i'd been) and the post office(where i was heading), i was set upon by an old lady asking for directions. she was indian, but she spoke melayu, which i sorta-kinda knew a little.
she wanted to know where bus service 13 was. not having taken a bus in a million years i naturally didn't know. but she looked so confused that i offered to lead her to a bus stop which i suspected had the service. wasn't sure at the time though.
we bypassed the post office, through the carpark(by which time she was probably wondering where this young punk was bringing her) and out through the other side.
and there was the prize. i told her to walk slowly toward it as i went ahead to check for the service. guess i didn't want her to make a wasted trip. when i ascertained it was the right stop, i went back for her, led her to it and asked her to sit there. actually i wanted to wait for the bus with her, but then i figured she couldn't possibly be lost by now, so i left her there.
good thing that was the right stop, cause she was wheezing by the time she reached it, and i'd feel real bad leading her around in circles.

boys are more imaginative
bekev: if you were superman how would you get your car home in a jam?bekev and i once got very engrossed in a certain topic...
me: tie it to me like a backpack and fly home.
bekev: wrong. i'd throw it in the direction of my home and then fly there to wait for it.
me: hmm... what if you missed and your car overshot your home?
bekev: ..... er......
me: or what if your car hits a 747 halfway?
bekev: haha!!
me: ya, then superman see the news and says "oh shit!"
bekev: imagine the 747 pilot sees the car flying across the sky before him, what will he think...
me: "that bastard's trying to siam jam again!"
we looked at the ground for a while...
me: oei, i know how superman can claim insurance.
bekev: how?
me: throw the car into outer space and claim it's stolen.
bekev: lol!
me: and imagine if the car hits a friendly alien visitor spaceship in the face. then it becomes an invasion force!
bekev + me: lol!

ok that was random...
recently i found myself very very interested in all things offroad, like a scrambler. i figured if i'm gonna stay in this godforsaken place i might as well pamper myself with something, and it was either a bike or a plane... so i did some research and came up with the ktm.
it's a beauty, and i kinda like the 250, 400 and 450. however they cost 15,800, 18,500, and 16,800 respectively. the 400's so expensive because it's the '09 model. actually they're all bloody expensive for motorcycles, but then they're the best in what they do: flinging mud in your laughing face.
i'm still thinking.
of who to rob.

alcohol...
never seems like much until you puke it out. in its entirety.
me just drank. didn't think it was alot, until it alll came out. pukes till my guts are trembling... and my fingers too...
man, i shouldn't have drunk neat. but it seemed like a goood idea then... and i drank it shot by shot, so i didn't know until... well... heh.
holiday's finally here, but my mood gfor celebration is gone. because i alreaedy know whether my transfer's gonna be successful.
no more suspense/anxiety.
but then it kinda loses its fun/appeal in a way.
whats the point sin studying so mnuch when i fumbled everythinhg furing the exam.
oh well, life goes on.
maybe i'll delete this entry tomoz. haa...

consequences
didn't sleep last night after all.
because i thought if i did i'd be killing my own chances of getting a transfer. and if i didn't sacrifice when i could have, it'd have become another regrettable decision in my life.
so instead of thinking "i should have done this, i should have done that" all the time i decided to make it "i'm gonna do it, and fucking tout de suite" when it actually matters.
i've done my best and it's all outta my hands now. on to the next one.

stereotyping
renne's accusation: why do you always stereotype every single driver under the sun and say they're all retarded? you're being unfair to a lot of them.
my defence: i used to ride, sister. ride. if i didn't treat all drivers with the same degree of suspicion and hostility i'd have become a statistic long ago, and you'd probably have only one brother right now. it's the only reason i'm still alive. besides, i only stereotype singaporean drivers as retards, not all under the sun.
excerpt from the straits times (tuesday, 21 oct 2008). from a certain individual who has driven in a few foreign countries: "singaporean drivers are probably the worst drivers in the world, especially those with a kiasu (hokkien for afraid to lose) mentality."
so i'm not alone in my stereotyping, and in any case it happens to be the truth. unlike some, i don't do bullshit.
conclusion: i stereotype, therefore i survive.

tabu!
definition: turbulence ahead, buckle up!!!
this is it. the next fifteen days will mark the most stormy days of my life.
15 days of feverish studying - (4 X half-days of examinations)
= ecstatic jubilation OR crushing despair
but wait, it doesn't end here.
15 - (4 X .5) + 26
= a little over a month of unstable confusion
= ecstatic jubilation OR crushing despair
IF ecstatic jubilation,
a little over a month of unstable confusion + god-knows-how-long-for-the-shipping
= multiple-orgasm
IF crushing despair....
i'll not think defeatist thoughts for now, plenty of time to torment myself later.
oh well, i'll take it one day at a time. at least for the first part.

i've gotta factor in another 26 days of gruesome suspense while those in charge doodle over my papers before passing their inevitable judgment. and then it's a race against time to get the transcript shipped to me so i can ship it back to the schools that i've applied to before all the places are taken up.

renne's an idiot
she wanted to go out today and wanted to borrow the pug (note: pug = short for peugeot). since mum was home i suggested she take the tortoise. she was adamant, thus.
five minutes after she left i received a call from her.

idevastate
saw an article in the papers yesterday. a unsw representative would be in town today to give interviews and answer queries. so i prepped all my transcripts and went.
he said: i'm afraid you wouldn't be offered a place in unsw based on your current results. i'd suggest staying on in rmit. alternatively, if you want to go to a sydney university you can try applying to uts or macquarie, because they have slightly lower entry requirements... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
i heard: ... ... ... ... wouldn't be offered a place in unsw ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
using politically correct terms he gunned me down, like a firing squad at point blank range. essentially he's saying unsw is too good for the likes of me, my transcripts are asswipes and it'd be meaningless to even try.
even though it was obvious he was trying to be nice about it, each word stung a little. yep, a little. like an excavator gouging my guts out.
i'm so motivated.
yay.

when passions wither and die
all the blog links seem to have ceased. now they're all seemingly dead links.
lost interest, maybe? or was it all just a passing fancy? when will i feel the same?
no matter, just added tristan's and renne's blog links. been reading renne's blog like a storybook previously, but stopped due to exams. she's really quite entertaining when she's bored.
really bored of studying accounts.
heh.

déjà vu
had a super weird dream last night...
i was in a car/cab, in just another landed neighbourhood. i mean there was nothing amazing or breathtaking about it. there was a circular tarmac area at the end of the road, and about three houses have gates facing the plot.
i got out of the car/cab, and immediately faced the gate of one of the houses. the funny thing was, instead of a driveway and house i saw a valley behind it. it was like two hills that rolled away from me, gently at first, until it disappeared from sight. between the two rolling hills was the most spectacular night view of the city lights i've ever seen. it took up most of my vision.
then i walked away from the gate and beheld another property. this one has a house, but in the weirdest colour and shape. the house itself was big beyond comprehension, all i could see was this dining room the size of a hangar. and the dining table and chairs were hanging at the ceiling! i could see the holes in the ceiling over the respective chairs which i could only assume were where the occupants accessed dinner from. the colour of the whole room was like the sia stewardess' kebaya, but in red rather than blue.
the third house i saw was even weirder. okay i could see the whole house, but that's about the only normal thing. because the house was the length of a cruise ship, but was at most 1.2m wide. throughout. and in pink. with a white roof. the shape was like one pink rectangle sitting on another, only skewed to the side.
and the weirdest thing about this dream? everything looked new and wonderous and very 夢幻 but i felt like i've seen it all before. but i loved the view of the city lights through the valley most.

tripping day 2
on the second day we went on a cave tour, a refreshing hike and a cable ride. loads of fun.

dining room. the whole place had a really cosy feeling.

wide variety of cereal to choose from. but the real breakfast was ham, sausage and egg. tasty.

hotel owner's dog. love the way the stubby legs blurred with all the fluff.

au revoir! t'was fun!

ah, on the roads again! i love the skies.

endless plains

wind turbines

we were running late for the cave tour, so mm drove a little fast and overtook a lot of vehicles. it was fine at first . . .

. . . until we came to the 山路 . . .

what can i say? mm drove like crazy.

made it in one piece

back into daylight

oh my god. it's a 1098s...

adventurers

we took a walk out to a small lake. this was where we had to drive through to get in. narrow eh?

the lake. it's got a name but i forgot it.

the water's really green. the serenity there calms nerves, like the chills i got when i saw the cliff drop on my left.

po's dad came along and allowed me a few shots

but then he ran away again

looks cool in sepia.

at a cafe washroom. in katoomba i think.

while waiting for the skycar

ah, here it comes!

i have no idea what this is for

me: it's ok to be late, just drive safely.
mm: hmm? very unsafe meh?
me: erm... ya... too fast......
because i was on the left side of the car, which conveniently also happened to be the at-least-1000-meter-drop cliff side. everytime we came to a right bend it seemed like we were gonna shoot off the cliff. of course mm never realised; people on the right can't see the cliffs!!
